Smart Source AB - we used to be known as Elsewhere AB but anyway ... we've got a pretty rich history that's been full of ups and downs. It all started back in 1999 when we were just a small IT support outfit with big aspirations . One of our first real clients was Skåne's Sports Federation - that led to a string of other assignments that saw us working with sports orgs all over the country.
As the years went by, we sort of built on a few core things - IT support, software dev, and servers (or hosting, if you want to call it that). Our hosting business actually started in a closet, it's true, but somehow we managed to turn it into a proper server solutions offering. Then in 2009, we took a big leap and bought up Kulturservern, a hosting company out of Malmö. That gave us access to some really high-end clients and some pretty cool projects in the cultural sector. Around the same time, we launched our own brand - VPS Sweden - which helped us establish ourselves a bit more in the hosting game.
Our experience in developing custom solutions revealed a need for a smooth participant management system. This led to the creation of Din Kurs Sverige AB in 2010. Over the years, we expanded our offerings. In 2014, we introduced the Go Clouded brand to deliver advanced virtual and colocation solutions.
In 2016, we launched Eventry. It is a tool linked to Din Kurs that enables centralized event marketing. It brings event information together in one place.
Alongside these ventures, we worked on websites and apps for many clients. This led to a clear shift in our business. In 2019, we laid the foundation for Smart Source. We decided to fully invest in development, particularly in web and mobile applications. Our developers became certified in Umbraco, and we became an official Certified Partner.
On September 12, 2024, we changed our name to Smart Source AB. This reflects our new focus on high-quality solutions in .NET and mobile development with MAUI.
